CBE, RSM set to equip students on accounting, finance
DAR ES SALAAM: COLLEGE of Business Education (CBE) has partnered with the RSM Eastern Africa Company to build the capacity of its students in the area of accounting and financial education.
Through this collaboration, RSM will provide training to the students of the college in three areas which are audit of accounts, finance, tax education and transaction advisory and consultancy.
RSM is a global firm and provider of audit, tax and consulting services to entrepreneurial growth-focused organisations globally.
The Acting Rector of the College, Planning, Finance and Administration, Prof Emmanuel Munishi said at the weekend that apart from CBE, the training will also be given to students of other colleges.
“CBE will be the only centre or hub for such training for all institutions of higher education in the country and in this programme we expect to reach 3,000 students who pursue degrees in accounting, accounting and finance as well as the profession of banking and finance,” he said.
In addition, he said that the training, which will be conducted by senior officers from RSM Eastern Africa with international experience, will support the international development agenda.
He also said that the training will help to achieve the 4th sustainable development goal of the United Nations regarding quality education and especially technical education and financial education which is provided by CBE College.
He said that the training will be concluded with a competition where the winners will be given practical study opportunities and internships and will help the college’s efforts to prepare graduates for the job market.
Prof Munishi said RSM has been conducting CBE financial audits for the past six years and for all those years the college has been getting clean sheet and arguments that they have been raising by the institution CBE has been working on them.
“This training is very important for our CBE students and it will be given by people who are experts in auditing issues, so I see that the students who will participate in this programme are very lucky and will help the international development agenda,” said Prof Munishi.
The Tax Manager of RSM Company, Jovin Bhoke said that every year they celebrate customer service by doing various activities to help the community.
He said that in these activities they always look at the agendas of the government and those of the world, where at the moment they have looked at the agenda number four of the United Nation which is related to the provision of quality education.
“We have chosen to come to CBE because it is the oldest college in providing business education, tax and financial education and we will share with them what we do so that students are studying and practice issues related to financial education,” said Bhoke.
