Roots academy in Nakuru posts sterling results in 2023 KCPE exams » Capital News

NAKURU, Kenya, Nov 24 – Academic giants in Nakuru continued their streak of posting good results in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).

One of the schools that performed exemplary well is Roots Academy on the outskirts of Nakuru City with 25 candidates getting more than 400 marks out of a possible 500 marks.

The highest pupil at the school were Daniel Kiiru and Griffin Nagide who tied at 419 marks.

They were followed closely by
Naomi Baige and Isaac Maker George who also tied at 417 marks.

Another pupil, Wanjiru Wahome who scored 414 marks could not hide her joy when she joined her former classmates, parents and teachers to celebrate the achievement.

The girl said she wanted to join Kenya High School but could not disclose her career of choice.

“The journey to success was not easy, the early morning and late night studies paid off,” said Wahome.

She thanked her parents and teachers for their their assistance and believing in her.

Mojorette Nakalema who scored 405 marks said the achievement came in as a shocker as she did not expect anything above 390 marks.

The school Deputy Headteacher, Cleophas Mutai said although the highest mark for the institution was lower by one mark compared to last year, the school has more learners hitting 400 marks.

“Twenty pupils attained 400 marks and above in last year’s KCPE compared to this year when we had 25 pupils above the aforementioned mark,” he said.

Moi Primary School, Nakuru, a public institution with more than 400 candidates got more 23 pupils who attained more that 400 marks with the highest one having 421 marks.

The school is among the most congested public schools in the region with six streams of more than 70 pupils each.

However, the school has managed to top the list of high performers, year after year.

Other schools that performed well in the year’s KCPE are St. Peters Elite, Gilgil, Moi Primary School Kabarak, Radiance Academy and Kagaki Preparatory School.
