Is that the FKF Premier League title? ‘Guardiola’ keeps cooking at Posta

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 27 – Are they the ‘dark horses’ or the ‘real horses’? Posta Rangers’ strong start to the season continued this weekend after the international break as they remained top of the FKF Premier League log with a 3-1 thrashing of Posta Rangers.

John ‘Guardiola’ Kamau’s side continued showing their flamboyance with another flawless victory, and their clean sheet was only broken by another spectacular strike from Eugene Mukangula.

The mailmen had seen their strong start slump with three back to back draws, but they bounced back to keep their opponents at arm’s length.

They lead the standings with 25 points, one above defending champions Gor Mahia who beat Muhoroni Youth 2-0 in Homabay.

With only 12 matches into the season, it might be too early to tag Rangers as title hopefuls, but looking at the squad they have, and the synergy built over the last three seasons, they are not a team to ignore.

The addition of a few experienced feet including serial winner Jackson Macharia from Tusker FC has added steel to their charge, and if they keep the run, then they will be a force to reckon with in the run.

Meanwhile, KCB raised themselves into the top three after earning maximum points from Murang’a Seal with a 2-1 victory.

The league newcomers had also been on a strong start to the campaign, and were solid especially at home, but the bankers’ victory in that very same ground at St Sebastian’s Park strengthened their own credentials to battle for the coveted trophy.

Seal slipped to fifth, while Homeboyz, 1-0 winners over Ulinzi Stars in Nairobi, moved to fourth with a third straight victory.

At the bottom of the table, the battle still remains between Shabana, Nzoia Sugar, Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka FC.

Muhoroni suffered a fourth straight loss to drop into second last, while Sofapaka’s point against AFC Leopards in a 1-1 draw didn’t helpo much as they remained rooted bottom of the log.

Nzoia were beaten 3-1 at home by Police FC and are third from bottom.
