Pakistan’s annual inflation rises to 29.2 pct in November

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) — Pakistan’s inflation increased to 29.2 percent year on year in November, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said.

On a month-on-month basis, the inflation increased to 2.7 percent in November as compared to an increase of 1.0 percent in the previous month, the PBS said on Friday.

The urban inflation in the country increased to 30.4 percent on a year-on-year basis in November as compared to the same month of last year, the bureau said.

It added that the country’s rural areas saw a 27.5 percent inflation year on year in November.

Food items including spices, flour, rice, beans, onions and sugar contributed to the increase in inflation, the data shared by the bureau showed.

The data also showed that gas, textbooks, stationery, soap, communication apparatus, electricity, and household equipment contributed to the increase in inflation in November.
