CS Kuria Warns Traffic Police Officers Against Demanding Bribes From PSVs Covered By Xplico Insurance » Capital News

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 9 – Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has cautioned traffic police officers from demanding bribes from Public Service Vehicle (PSV) owners covered by Xplico Insurance.

While expressing his bewilderment over the matter, Kuria highlighting that the insurance firm was only placed under receivership on Friday, hence making it illogical to harass drivers covered by the now defunct insurer over the weekend.

“I have received reports about traffic police officers asking for bribes from PSV owners who have cover from Explico Insurance which was only put under receivership yesterday,” the Cs stated in his X account which was formerly known as Twitter.

“It’s not reasonable to expect innocent policyholders to get new cover over the weekend,” the CS added.

He has stated that he has discussed the matter with the inspector general of police Japet Koome.
